Mercedes-Benz have finally released design sketches of their hotly-anticipated 2018 Sprinter van at the North American Commercial Vehicle Show (NACV).
The all-new Mercedes Sprinter van, which is more than an evolution of the current-generation Sprinter - taking elements from Mercedes' 2016 Vision Van concept, will go on sale in the first half of next year in Europe.
Manufacturer Mercedes-Benz claims: "The design sketch indicates that the most important market launch in the van sector in 2018 will also set new standards in terms of appearance." For example, the defined headlights give the latest sprinter a more 'athletic' look. Early word from Mercedes-Benz Vans confirms that the 2018 model will also introduce multiple driving assistance systems, connectivity services and new telematics which will allow for improved vehicle and fleet management. The new Sprinter is the first new model to represent Mercedes-Benz's adVANce initiative, presented in autumn 2016, which encourages the German automotive company to embrace digitisation to become more than a vehicle manufacturer. Instead, providing "complex, comprehensive mobility solutions".
Since the first Sprinter was launched in 1995 as Mercedes-Benz Vans' flagship model, more than 3.3 million units have been delivered to more than 130 countries, making it one of the most popular commercial vehicles ever.
