Christmas Jumper Day 2024

At Big Van World, we’re taking part in Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 12th December to support the work of Save the Children. By joining in, you’ll be helping to protect, nurture, and support children in the UK and around the world, ensuring they stay safe, healthy, and learning.

How You Can Take Part

We’re inviting everyone to join us and show their support. Here’s how you can get involved:

Wear a Christmas Jumper

On Thursday 12th December, wear your favourite Christmas jumper to work, school, or while out and about. Whether it’s a classic festive knit or something more quirky, every jumper worn helps to raise awareness for this important cause.

Make a Donation

Donations start at just £2 and make a meaningful difference. You can donate in one of two ways:

• Online: Donate ahead of time or on the day by clicking here - Donate here
• By Text: Text ‘BVW’ to 70050 to make a £5 donation.

Your mobile provider will bill you £5, plus your standard network rate. Save the Children will receive 100% of your donation. To opt out of receiving fundraising calls, include NO after the text code.

Where Your Donation Goes

Save the Children puts donations to work immediately, funding practical and impactful solutions. For example:

• £2: Could buy seeds for a family in Kenya to grow food after droughts have destroyed crops.
• £8: Could provide a blanket to help keep a child in Ukraine warm during the winter.
• £15: Could pay for two weeks of super-powered peanut paste to help treat severe malnutrition.
• £20: Could provide supermarket vouchers for two children in the UK.
• £40: Could provide a Baby Kit for a family in Gaza, including essential items for infant care.

Why It’s Important

Save the Children works globally to tackle issues such as hunger, education gaps, and child protection. In the UK, their programmes address child poverty, ensuring children have access to essentials such as food and clothing. By taking part in Christmas Jumper Day, you are directly contributing to these efforts.
