Established in 2002, and selling around 100 vehicles in its first year, Austen Trading has since experienced rapid growth and is now possibly the biggest independent commercial dealer in the UK, selling over 2,000 vehicles per year.

With the dealership outgrowing the look and feel of the brand, business Founder and Managing Director Michael Austen felt it was time for a change. He said

“Our new brand reflects the large scale of our organisation, which has quickly become a vehicle supermarket with an excellent reputation across the country. The business has changed so much over the years, with our growing team and loyal customer base becoming much bigger than the Austen Trading brand that I started in 1998. When I was younger, it was important to me to have my name in the business.

Now it’s time to build a brand that will take this company to the next level. We’ve celebrated what we achieved as Austen Trading and I’m incredibly proud of the team’s efforts, and together we recognised that the brand no longer reflected the scale of our business.

Our new tagline is ‘Together We’re Moving’. The world is moving at such a pace, and we need to move forward together, and that means supporting our customers, building long term relationships and working with one another as a team to get things done, which is exactly why people buy their work vehicles from us. I am extremely excited for what the future holds for Big Van World, our customers, our team and the local community.”

Big Van World stocks a wide range of vans, cars and other commercial vehicles, employing over 40 people.

With over 600 vehicles on ever-expanding premises, the business now occupies over 20 acres, having acquired the nearby Chelworth Park in early 2017.
