The government has announced trials of platoons of self-driving lorries on UK motorways.
There will be convoys of up to three wirelessly connected lorries, with steering, acceleration and braking controlled by the lead vehicle. During the trials, each HGV will have a driver in the cab ready to take control if needed.
Supporters say this could cut congestion and fuel costs, although motoring groups have raised safety concerns, particularly on motorways.
