The commercial fleet industry has called on the next Government not to dump on diesels by increasing fuel duty.
Fuel duty has been frozen since 2011 when it was reduced by 1 pence per litre. However, it remains the highest in Europe representing a massive cost to businesses and the RHA (Road haulage Association) say it results in a massive tax on the whole supply chain.
35% of fuel duty collected by the Treasury is paid for by the logistics sector, contributing over £121b Gross Value Added to the UK economy. The commercial fleet industry has implored all political parties to not risk economic growth by targeting diesel duty.
